I truly believe that every pet deserves the very best care—especially when their favourite humans are away. That’s why I’ve built my pet visiting and dog walking service around one simple promise: to treat your animal companion with the same love, attention, and respect I give my own. Whether they have fur, feathers, or scales, I’m here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and cherished in your absence.

My love for animals runs deep. I grew up in South Africa in a household that was more like a miniature farm—ducks, rabbits, guinea pigs, dogs, cats, and even a pet chicken roamed our garden. From a young age, I was drawn to animals of all kinds, often joining my dad in rescuing wildlife and learning how to care for creatures great and small. One of my earliest and most profound companions was Dusty, a gentle Labrador who came into my life when I was just a toddler and stayed by my side until I was sixteen. She wasn’t just a pet—she was family. Her protective love and quiet wisdom taught me that animals are individuals, with feelings, preferences, and deep emotional bonds.

Years later, during a transitional moment in my life, I found solace in volunteering at a small animal rescue—the same place where I boarded my three rabbits and, unsurprisingly, adopted a fourth. That experience rekindled my passion and led me to serve on the committee, and later as a trustee at another rescue founded by some of the same wonderful people. My time in rescue work was filled with purpose, laughter, and the occasional chaos of caring for the most vulnerable animals. Though my role in the police eventually demanded more of my time, those years in rescue left a lasting imprint on me.

Then came September 2025—a moment of reflection after the loss of a dear friend. I asked myself: What brings me joy? What feels meaningful? The answer was clear. I’ve always wanted someone I could trust to come into my home and care for my pets the way I do. I’ve always loved walking dogs, connecting with animals, and being part of their world. So I thought—why not turn that passion into a profession?

And here we are. Ed’s Pets is more than a business—it’s a heartfelt offering. I’m here to provide personalised, compassionate care that honours your pet’s routine, personality, and emotional needs. Whether it’s a midday snack for your Degu, a solo walk for your shy pup, or a cuddle and clean-up for your senior cat, I’ll be there with warmth, reliability, and a genuine love for what I do.
